Johann Pachelbel, the composer of the infamous Canon in D, was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1653. Growing up, he was an exceptional student, with amazing academic and musical comedy abilities. He went to school at St. Lorenz Hauptschule and the Auditorio Aegediano in Nuremberg. In 1669, Pachelbel tumble at the University of Altdorf and in the same year he was contract as the organist of St. Lorenz church. Pachebel moved to Erfurt and worked as the organist for the Protestant Predigerkirche (Preachers Church) for 12 years, in the meantime married twice. In 1690, Johann left Erfurt for Stuttgart and once again, took a cook up as a court organist, this time for Duchess Magdalena Sibylia of Württemberg. In 1692, there were threats of a cut invasion , so he left to live in Gotha, and became the town organist. Pachelbels fame was increment and he was offered a job as an organist I Oxford, England, that he rejected the offer.
